Track: Dreams

Home

This is Zyfa.
A crew of five young musicians.
With five different hats.
Bought at the same hat shop.
All in a different shape and color.
We met on a small side road.
On the highest point of Flanders.
And the high road in sight.
Lying on a farmer’s cart.
Waiting for the wind to pick us up.
Don’t forget to let us in.
You will never look the same.
After trying on five hats.
After listening to Zyfa.

In Concert

12 months a year: your house
Do you have a big living room, a warm garage or a cozy attic?
Enough friends in your phone or mailbox that like music?
Then you can invite Zyfa for a concert at your house.
We’ll bring our songs, sit on your lap and smile to your grandmother.
This is as close as it gets.

2 May: De Vooruit

We need your vote for the Popfolio awards. We also need you in De Vooruit.
To cheer for us in the old Ballroom. Maybe you can even dance?
To smile when we go on stage. Maybe you can even whistle?
To see our first video. Maybe one day, we’ll make a whole movie?

24 April: ’t Karrewiel

Without a doubt, wheels are the most important thing on a cart.
They even made it to becoming a name for this pub.
We can be wheels too. Let’s make a head roll and move forward by spinning round and round.  Until everything turns. And wonderfully gets out of balance.
Kerkstraat 8, Merchtem, 9 p.m.

19 April: Stoemp!

Stoemp is the Dutch word for a traditional dish with mashed potatoes and vegetables. But it’s also the name of a pub festival in Brussels.
Zyfa is asked to give the kick start. When the engine’s hot and running,
they’ll give over the pedals to Guy Swinnen.

12 April:
Listen to the radio

Zyfa goes on the air! We bring a studio show on FM Brussels between
8 and 10 p.m. The audience can’t be heard, can’t be seen. But they’re out there. Chained to their radios. Waiting for Zyfa to come in for a visit.

About us

We’re not famous.
Not yet.
Don’t know if we even want to be.
Be a poster on somebody’s wall?
Be a story in a magazine?
I guess we do.
Because we love our music.
Because we need an audience.
People will only listen to us if they know about us.
We’re stuck in this vicious circle.
So give me that fame!
Give me your attention!
Write about Zyfa!
Put us on stage!
Put us in your lunchbox.
Sneak in before noon.
And save the bread crumbs for later…

RifRaf Magazine about Zyfa:

’Ryan Adams is supposedly their big hero,
but Buffalo Tom is also just around the corner.
The opening song ‘Spring (play)’ makes a soft
start on its socks and then surprises you with a
complete turnover in beat and atmosphere. ‘Shed a Tear’
winks to My Morning Jacket, while ‘Dreams’ reminds us of the Pavement.
The bonustrack ‘Well I Once Read’ puts you in a cozy saloon.
It’s a nice way to finish a solid demo.’

Popfolio for Zyfa:

8 Belgian bands get selected for Popfolio.
Zyfa is one of the lucky ones that receive a budget of
1000 euro and a team of creative people to make a
professional portfolio. The awards are scheduled
for 2 May in De Vooruit. All bands are winners.
Only some will be bigger winners then others.
